Well, this is my One-Year Anniversary. I set up the Parlor of Horror blog on December 9^th, 2011. My first official horror post on December 13^th was this one:

Many bloggers that had started around the same time as I have waned and don’t post anymore. Others have grown to much larger audiences. I really don’t mind. I only post when I want, which is about twice a week. I only write about what I want to write about. It is much more enjoyable than when I wrote for magazines and other websites where I had deadlines, assignments, and had to review crap I didn‘t like.

I’m not here to make money from traffic on the site or promote stuff for payola. I am only here because I am a fan of the horror genre. I like to discover films I’d like to see, compare my ideas with others who like the genre, and perhaps give some ideas of films/books others may want to check out. I like horror books and horror novels. I like horror short-stories. I like horror art. I like horror stuff!

For those of you who don’t know, my name is Mike. You can call me Mike or you can call me POH.

I would like to give a shout out to all who continue to read my blog and those who ‘like’ and comment on my posts the most. It’s good to know that we share some of the same ideas and even that we disagree on things – I appreciate just knowing you have read the posts and have an opinion on them.
