Grinning Skull Press has just released the trade paperback version of From Beyond the Grave. As you may already know, this is a fine collection of ghostly tales. Did anyone see these great nights of classic horror and mythology films?
Turner Classic Movies (TCM),Thursday June, 6th – Classic monster movies – I was flicking through the channels on Thursday night when I stumbled upon, The Bride of Frankenstein. It had just begun, so I decided to watch. Then I discovered several classic horror films were to be shown in a row. So, the night’s line-up consisted of:
The Bride of Frankenstein (1935)
Godzilla, King of the Monsters (1956)
Creature From the Black Lagoon (1954)
King Kong (1933)
(side note: we are soon expecting a remake of The Creature from the Black Lagoon from Universal Pictures. It will bear a shorter title, The Black Lagoon).
Antenna TV, Saturday June 8th – offered a great line-up of the Harryhausen /Schneer mythology movies:
Jason and the Argonauts
The Golden Voyage of Sinbad
Sinbad and The Eye of the Tiger

After all my complaining about Television, these 2 channels put on these great movie blocks. Despite owning all of these films on DVD, I tuned in and watched these mini monster movie marathons. I wish this would happen more often. J

I watched ALL the films on TCM that night. But occasionally I drifted off especially through that re-edited version of Godzilla. I’ve never heard of Antenna TV.
If you have cablevision, you should have it, they show all old tv shows and every few months they change their schedules. On weekends they show movies. Don’t know if its avail. with Verizon. It is also avail (believe it or not) on regular broadcast TV, its one of the W-PIX secondary channels.
I miss WPIX so much. Used to watch TZ, Star Trek, The Odd Couple and The Honeymooners back in the day. I have Time Warner up here in Rochester. So no Antenna TV 😦
Oh, I knew you were north of me so I thought maybe you were in Westchester where they have cablevision (New Rochelle area). Pix is not the same these days… every night my wife and me watch either Honeymooners or The Odd Couple. Got them on DVD for sure!
If you get Me-tv (should be non-cable) horror host Svengoolie shows classic Universal horror films every Saturday night at 10.
Don’t have ME-TV, wish I did!
