This post takes a look at Damsels in distress as depicted on movie posters for horror and sci-fi. There’s no truth in advertising here as many of these depictions never actually happen in the films.

Some truly fantastic artwork there! 🙂
Fun stuff! I think a couple may have already been in your reviews 🙂
For sure. I also see a couple that I really want to do now as well and shall be forthcoming!
I do the same thing, I grab a poster image to remind me that I want to see/review a flick. I got a whole file folder of them 🙂
Cool!
Wow, amazing artwork on these posters!
Nice!!
Love the Curse of the Werewolf poster.
Curse of the Werewolf is one of the underrated Hammer films, IMO.
I agree.
Fantastic gallery
Amazing how both Day Th Earth Stood Still posters, th “damsel” looks NOTHING like Patricia Neal, bt then, her character was stronger than many of her 50s contemporaries
Cheers!
Amazing artwork, wow.
Man, these rule, Mike! Amazing work collecting these. I started laughing for some reason when I got to The Green Slime lol 🙂
Have you ever seen the movie? It’s very similar in ways to Alien.
Yeah, I have! Plenty of times. I think I had it on VHS for a while. LOVE that theme song, too. Dudes makes it sound like a Tom Jones tune. It is really good cheesy fun.
Yes! the misplaced Tom Jones style music, Funny stuff! In ‘The X from Outer Space,’ great mis-matched music too!
Really? Haha. Gotta find that one. Been a while lol.
I thought you’d be interested in reading my reviews of the Alien series on my blog.
Yes, I would, I’ll read them 2night. I actually like all of the films unlike a lot of other sci-fi fans,
Thanks, will be interesting to hear your thoughts.
